FAQ’s
Can an electric wheelchair go into the boat?
The boat may receive people in an electric wheelchair, as long as they have been previously consulted and authorized by BBBDouro. Weather conditions and the dimensions of the side entrance door may be the only constraints.
I don‘t have/can’t move my arms and/or legs. Can I sail on this boat?
It is perfectly possible to sail the INCA boat, even with physical limitations. With the crew helping with what’s needed or even steering the boat entirely, anyone can sail.
I’m blind. Can I sail?
A blind person can sail. With a crew to guide you, anything is possible!
Does the boat tilt?
The Inclusive Sailing catamaran has a double hull design that gives it extra stability. Each hull has a paddle, which acts as a stabilizer and helps to control the boat’s inclination, complemented by the excellent work of the crew in maintaining the best sailing conditions.
Is the boat safe for children?
The INCA boat was specially designed so that people with any kind of physical restriction can sail safely. Therefore, it is also a perfect boat for children.
I don’t have a disability. Can I go on the inclusive boat?
As the name implies, INCA (INclusive CAtamaran) is really for everyone. It is not an exclusive catamaran for people with disabilities, but a boat that anyone can sail on.
Note: The BBDouro fleet is composed by 18 boats: 15 sailboats, 4 semi-rigid boats and a catamaran especially designed for adaptive sports. All boats are properly licensed, with insurance according to the law and are professionally maintained, being the image and safety on board the major concerns of BBDouro.
