COVID-19 Updates at BBDouro
Crisis Management Procedure
Our crisis management procedure was created following the recommendations of the Direção Geral de Saúde. These were adapted to the practice of sailing, in its two main aspects – sailing as a sports activity and sailing as a touristic activity.
Sailing as a Sports Activity
The Federação Portuguesa de Vela (Portuguese Sailing Federation) published rules for sailing as a sport and leisure activity. Our goal is to comply with the rules and ensure that all BBDouro pupils are as well received as ever, respecting the adaptation of our company to this new reality. We keep customers up to date with the updates we make. If you are interested in being part of our sports community and have doubts about our procedure regarding the new Coronavirus, send an email to email@example.com.
Sailing as a Touristic Activity
We value the comfort of all our customers. Therefore, at BBDouro you will find several measures that protect you and us. We put a waiting zone in front of our office. The office and bathroom are provided with hand sanitizer. You will find alcohol gel in many points of the marina, as well as in the employees’ boats and pockets. All employees wear a certified mask. If you are interested in sailing tours and trials with us and have any questions regarding our procedure for the new Coronavirus, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Turismo de Portugal launched the “Clean & Safe Establishment” stamp for tourism companies across the country. BBDouro applied for and received this stamp that indicates that the customer will be able to enjoy the place safely. All hygiene rules and procedures for raising awareness regarding both employees and customers are complied with. The trust that our customers place in us is what elevates us, and therefore we could not fail to comply with all the rules so that BBDouro was as safe as possible.
Sustainability in times of crisis
At BBDouro, sustainability has always been an important issue. In the past few years, we have made several ecological and economic measures viable in the long term. We bring disposable Earth Water bottles to our plan, as well as reusable aluminum bottles made available to all employees and pupils, among other news that we will shortly be pleased to present. With the Covid-19 pandemic, we continue to be the best we can and do everything possible so that there is as little waste as possible.
All BBDouro employees will have a bottle of alcohol gel that they must refill when it reaches the end. BBDouro keeps alcohol gel in stock.
Washable Face Masks
A washable fabric mask is provided to all BBDouro Skippers. However, during the activity at sea, Skippers must put on disposable 3-layer masks.
Hand Sanitizer Dispenser
Employees and customers are asked to disinfect their hands frequently. This is a more environmentally friendly measure than using latex gloves, which we believe that it easily causes a false sense of protection to its user.
Life Jackets Washing
The pupils’ life jackets are placed in a disinfectant bath and then dried. They pass through several disinfection stations before they can be used again. This method ensures no waste of paper towels or wipes.
We continue to recycle organic waste, paper and plastic. The lids of the recycling bins were removed in order to avoid any surface contact. Contaminated waste (masks, gloves, guards and others) is deposited in a bin designated for this purpose.
