Part of the BBDouro ForALL brand, the project has as main objective to give access to the practice of sailing to all those with disabilities, their caregivers or even family.
The practice sailing as sport by people with reduced mobility or with disabilities is nothing new.
However, this project, which has been developed since 2016, has the first catamaran worldwide developed in Portugal in partnership with Inclusive Sailing, for people with motor and / or psychological disabilities and wich can take, at the same time, four wheelchairs in the central platform and is adapted to 100% to the needs of our activity. The boat was thought out to detail to ensure a safe experience and learning without barriers.
At BBDouro you will find services adapted to those who may present temporarily or permanently limitations of cognitive and psychosocial mobility. The practice of sailing promotes, among others, the concentration and development of motor and psychological abilities, as well as a sense of well-being, for being an outdoor sport.
The Disabled Sailing project is also a pioneer in terms of Disabled Tourism in Portugal, and this is a market that deserves our attention. As such, BBDouro tries to ensure that the sailing experience is inclusive and accessible to all who visit our city.
